Montessori Children's House is a licensed private preschool offering several programs, both to benefit the educational needs of our students as well as provide for the childcare needs of working parents.
We reach children 0 to 5 for pre-school students. We go through elementary as we are able.
The Montessori Curriculum includes practical life, language, math, geometry, botany, zoology, geography, and history. All of the core disciplines are organized and set up in each classroom, with age-appropriate materials that will be presented in one-on-one lessons. As children progress through the curriculum, they are able to choose the work that inspires them. This process encourages the child to deepen their love of learning.
Montessori Children’s House is proud to be a Member of The American Montessori Society and continually exceeds all accreditation standards set by the AMS.
Infant/Pre-Transitional
(Ages 6 weeks-18 months)
Our Infant/ Pre-Transitional Class is a safe daycare environment for children ages 6 weeks- 18 months to explore securely. In this class we are flexible with feeding and sleeping schedules while we gently introduce the idea of a routine. This classroom has developmentally appropriate materials and furniture, as well as loving and nurturing teachers.
Transitional
(Ages 18 months-3 years)
Children who are 18 months and older will be in one of our Transitional Classes. This program focuses on establishing routine, fostering independence, and developing and mastering fine and gross motor skills while still introducing academics. When you tour, you will notice our transitional classrooms have age-appropriate Montessori materials so the children can begin to explore these components. We will focus on encouraging potty training when your child shows readiness.
Primary
(Ages 3 years- 6 years)
Once children have reached age 3 and are toilet trained, they will be transitioned into one of our Primary Classes. The primary environment will give your child the independence to develop both socially and academically. Children will be given the opportunity to learn and play in many different settings—in pairs, in groups, or individually. Children will first be presented with and then will practice and master components of Practical Life, Sensorial, Cultural, Language Arts, Math, Geometry, Science, and Geography lessons.
Kindergarten and Lower Elementary
The Lower Elementary (Kindergarten through third grade, or ages 5 to 9) classroom is a multi-age, individually paced, stimulating environment allowing for evolution of the sense of self while learning critical thinking, responsibility and respect for self and others—all essential to successfully navigating later education and life. New challenges will continue to be presented as previous concepts are mastered. Allowing a student to work at his/her own pace inspires a sense of ownership in the child’s education. Our Lower Elementary Montessori curriculum will solidify your child’s educational foundation without the worries of a new, over-crowded school.
Summer Camp
MCH’s Summer Camp is designed for children who have turned 6 by September 1st (completed Kindergarten) all the way up to those who are entering 5th grade in the upcoming fall. Our Summer Camp offers a great balance of Montessori curriculum as well as summertime fun! We bring several different events to the school for the children to enjoy.
